Bombala Bike Show is raffling a
1974 T140V Triumph Bonneville 750
FULLY RECONDITIONED This bike has had many thousands spent on
it and has been built as a riders bike.The following is just part of what
has been rebuilt and purchased new all machining has been done bytop
triumph builder and machinist Peter Rohan.
Engine Crank checked, miked and found to be as new, sludge trap cleaned &
new Allen head plug, journals polished, new heavy duty main bearings, new
standard bearing shells fitted big end, little end within original tolerances, barrels
re-bored to 0.60 over size with 9.5/1 pistons, barrels decked, new engine
mounting bolts and SS Allen screws, custom oil filter with Daihatsu filter cartridge
mounted behind side covers, MAP no drag clutch plate set for smooth gear shifts. Solid state rectifier/regulator, Pazon
electronic ignition, high energy coil, Billet timing cover, Combustion chambers ccd, MAP Nascar standard valve guides,
black diamond valves, Map street performance Valve springs, light weight MAP titanium race push rods, head decked, New
Keihin PWK flat slide carbs, pod filters, billet oil feed manifold, billet timing cover, Iridium plugs, turned exhaust spigots to
take T120 650cc X 1 ½” outset headers, new Megaphone mufflers (re-packable Dunstal replicas), new kick starter lever, oil
breather tube, gear box was completely stripped and I could find nothing outside of maker specifications. Rolling Frame
Chromed push rod tubes, kick stand, foot pegs, brake lever and many other parts. Powder coated frame, custom retro look
side covers, NOS complete rear wheel, bearings & brake drum with new brake shoes, new stainless steel front rim and
spokes, new front wheel bearings, new front brake rotor and pads and bearings, new front slave cyl kit, steering head
bearings, new fork stanchions, no leak fork seals, solid turned steel P clamp mounts for handlebars so no wobble in bars, full
new wiring harness, new battery, new headlight with halogen globe, alternator rotor with rare earth magnets giving high
output at idle, new mirrors, new K81 Tyres, CB 750 Honda controls for reliability and new FZR f-brake Master Cylinder so
the bike can stop as well as go quick, new throttle twist grip, new seat cover& hinge with stay so no need for seat cable, all
new control cables, new speedo and taco gauges and mountings and rubbers, new turn indicators, new front guard brackets,
new pair of Hagon shocks , new 520 O-ring chain and matching sprockets conversion kit, most bolts replaced with stainless
hex and Allen head bolts, new speedo gear box.Custom Paint I have done all freehand airbrushing in Auto Air colours &
Auto Air Green hot-rod sparkle over black base with 5 coats of DeBeer 2pac clear. Fuel tank is sealed with KBS Gold
standard tank sealant. The basic run in was 100 miles then head and rockers boxes were re-tensioned, at 180 miles I
swapped std carbs for the Keihin PWK flat slide these will probably need jets changing spare jets are provided for this
purpose. To do this use a dyno or road test method. The bike has had 3 oil and oil filter changes so will be good for 5000
Klm before the next oil change then change oil and filter at 10,000 Klm. ( ONLY 350Klms SINCE REBUILD)
The raffle will be drawn on Saturday 17th of November at the Bombala
Showground following the presentation of the “Best Bike” trophies.
